California Clinical Psychologist, LLC is a private practice founded by Kristen G. Riedle, PhD in 2023.
Dr. Riedle is committed to providing empirically supported psychological intervention and assessment. She is trained in such evidence-based modalities as Behavioral Activation (BA), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr. Riedle completed her bachelor degree (BA) in psychology at the University of Wisconsin, where she was recognized for her research in social and personality psychology. Dr. Riedle subsequently joined a cognitive research team at Temple University to examine first-onset bipolar disorder in adolescents, and concurrently collaborated with the University of Pennsylvania Positive Psychology Center to study resiliency and posttraumatic growth.
Dr. Riedle earned her master and doctoral degrees (MA and PhD) in clinical psychology at the University of Iowa, where she specialized in perinatal mood disorders and eating disorders during pregnancy. Dr. Riedle completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine, providing short-term behavioral health services within an integrated primary care clinic. Dr. Riedle learned how to effectively conduct telehealth sessions during the second half of her clinical internship due to COVID-19.
Dr. Riedle has extensive clinical training across diverse settings, including court-mandated therapy within the Department of Corrections, hospital-based group therapy, pre-transplant patient assessments, telephone coaching for postpartum depression through the Department of Veterans Affairs, and psychological assessment for learning disorders and ADHD.
Dr. Riedle holds an active psychology license in the state of California. She currently provides psychotherapy and assessment services to a diverse population of child, adolescent, and adult patients. Dr. Riedle has been practicing independently as a virtual provider of psychological services since 2022.
Dr. Riedle’s approach to case conceptualization is individualized based on each patient’s goals, and she selects material across therapeutic modalities to best address these goals. Dr. Riedle strongly believes that collaboration and clear communication are essential for effective therapy.
